”Toward Apocalypticism”

Avhandlingens titel är Toward Apocalypticism: A Thematic Analysis of Isaiah 65–66, där jag främst analyserar olika teman i Jesajabokens två sista kapitel men visar också hur några av dess profetiska teman drar emot en annan slags genre i den antika judiska litteraturen som kallas för apokalyptik. Jag illustrerar detta sistnämnda med exempel på hur Jes 65–66 har lämnat avtryck i 1 Henok, en apokalypse från andra århundradet fvt. Helt kort, kan min avhandling benämnas som ett tematiskt och receptionshistoriskt studium av den profetiska och apokalyptiska genren i tidig judendom.

At last I am holding the book in my hand, the book with my article ”Jerusalem as the Centre of Blessing in Isaiah 65–66 and 1 Enoch.” The volume is described in the following way:
Understanding the Spiritual Meaning of Jerusalem in Three Abrahamic Religions analyzes the historical, social and theological factors which have resulted in Jerusalem being considered a holy place in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. It also surveys the transmission of the religious traditions related to Jerusalem. This volume centralizes both the biblical background of Jerusalem’s pivotal role as holy place and its later development in religious writings; the biblical imagery has been adapted, rewritten and modified in Second Temple Jewish writings, the New Testament, patristic and Jewish literature, and Islamic traditions. Thus, all three monotheistic religions have influenced the multifaceted, interpretive traditions which help to understand the current religious and political position of Jerusalem in the three main Abrahamic faiths.
My article is part of my PhD-studies and the editor of the book, professor Antti Laato, is my supervisor.

Efter en lång väntan har jag fått en artikel publicerad i en antologi, som är baserad på en del av min uppkommande doktorsavhandling. Publiceringen sker via Brill, som i min värld är ett mycket statusfyllt förlag. Som ni ser ovan är bokens titel Understanding the Spiritual Meaning of Jerusalem in Three Abrahamic Religions, och artikelns titel är ”Jerusalem as the Centre of Blessing in Isaiah 65–66 and 1 Enoch 26:1–2.” Boken ingår bokserien ”Studies on the Children of Abraham, volyme: 6.”
